Shea Belahi - Yoga Instructor
 

Shea was first introduced to yoga while in college near Chicago where she studied Bikram yoga for about a year and instantly fell in love. A few years later, after returning to the Champaign area, she decided to take her love of yoga a step further and learned to be a teacher. She completed her group fitness certification through the National Exercise Trainers Association and did an apprenticeship under Mary Wolters. She continues to study and grow as a student and teacher. She has completed a 12 hour Anatomy and Yoga seminar to learn how the body works inside poses, and how to correct alignment and prevent injury. She believes that drawing awareness to the body provides a distinct connection between body and mind, and brings attention to proper body alignment for healthy bones and muscles, thus allowing the body to become more open and allowing deeper, safer stretching and strengthening.

Casey Coon - Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor
 

Casey's motto is, "work hard to get what you want." She holds multiple certifications in Zumba and is certified in PiYo, Turbo Kick, Pilates, SPIN, R.I.P.P.E.D, and is getting certified in Les Mills formats in early 2012. She is also a certified AFAA Primary Group Fitness Instructor, an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist, and a NSCA Certified Personal Trainer. She pursued her MS in Exercise Science from EIU because of her interest in clinical exercise. After receiving her degree she has continued to work in the clinical medical setting. She LOVES teaching group fitness on the side! She loves the energy, meeting new people, and teaching others how to change their lives and become healthier. Her classes are fun and can be modified for a variety of fitness levels. Come in and try a class with Casey, let her passion and energy inspire you!

Steve Gratkins - Trainer & Front Desk
 

Steve is a former Marine and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University’s Exercise Science program; currently, he attends Illinois State University and is working on a master’s in Exercise Physiology. He is a Certified Personal Trainer from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). His philosophy is “Exercise Is Medicine”: with proper guidance and diet, you will live a longer, healthier, and fuller life. He is also an avid road racer and bicyclist and has run several marathons, half-marathons, and smaller road races. If you’re looking for a great trainer to help improve your general fitness level, train for your first race, or to set a personal best, Steve can help you achieve your goal.

 
 
Tori Heeb - Zumba & PiYo Instructor
 

Tori graduated from the University of Illinois with a major in Dance Performance and is currently attending Parkland College taking pre-requisites for acceptance into a Physical Therapy Doctoral program.  After taking her first Zumba class in Chicago, Tori fell in love with fitness!  She received her certification in Zumba where she's able to use her dance training and recently became certified in PiYo.  Tori believes exercise should be fun and challenging at all fitness levels.

 
 
Justine Karduck, MS, LDN, CDE - Registered Dietitian
 

Justine is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in Illinois with eight years of experience. She received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and a master’s degree from the University Of Illinois in Nutrition. Her main areas of expertise are Weight Management and Diabetes Education. Her career roles have included Inpatient Clinical Dietitian, Community Diabetes Education Program Coordinator, College Health Dietitian, and Adjunct Clinical Lecturer at the University Of Illinois. Justine is a Certified Diabetes Educator and holds a Certificate in Adult Weight Management. She currently serves as the President of the Eastern Illinois Dietetic Association and a Faculty Board Member for the Dietetic Technician Program at Parkland College.

 
 
Kevin Khan - Trainer
 

Kevin’s passions are fitness and body building. He has been training clients for over 4 years and has participated in 3 natural body building shows. He can usually be found in the gym training a client, doing cardio or lifting weights. He trains athletes and non-athletes at all levels and specializes in developing programs for all age groups, from young adults to seniors. He can help prepare athletes for their upcoming sport, can train clients to tone and build muscle, and help to gain mobility, strength and balance. Kevin’s goal is not just to train physical fitness but to create a positive environment to help his clients make a lasting lifestyle change.

 
 
Mekenzie Lewis - Zumba Instructor
 

Mekenzie received her bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Eastern Illinois University and is currently a graduate student at Eastern finishing her master's in Dietetics - focusing her graduate thesis on research in sports nutrition. Mekenzie has a broad history of athletic participation, specifically in collegiate swimming. She was introduced to Zumba a year ago and couldn't get enough of this awesome new workout, so much so that becoming a certified instructor was the outcome! Mekenzie believes keeping exercise fun and challenging is the best way to stay motivated and stick to a fitness routine.

 
 
Cheryl Louviere LMT - Massage Therapist
 

Cheryl is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and a member of AMTA.  She is a graduate of Parkland College’s Massage Therapy Program, where over 700 hours of training prepared her to administer treatments specializing in stress reduction, pain management, general relaxation and more. She values her role as a therapist in Champaign-Urbana's health and wellness community. She encourages you to discover the countless benefits massage can provide along with your personal exercise and wellness plan. From reduced pain, tension, and stress to greater range of motion and a general sense of wellness, massage is an excellent tool to optimal health.

 
 
Dan Maroun - Body Pump Instructor
 

Dan is certified in multiple Les Mills formats and holds various other nationally recognized certifications. His fitness philosophy--get moving! Fitness is for everyone no matter the fitness level.

 
 
Tiffany Meyer - Group Fitness Instructor
 

Tiffany is a Graduate Assistant at Eastern Illinois University where she is pursuing her master’s degree in Exercise Science with a clinical focus on cardiac rehabilitation. She works for the EIU Adult Fitness Program where she performs fitness and risk assessments, prescribes exercise, and personally trains program members. She also teaches 2 academic Aerobics classes at EIU and now instructs “Morning Mixer” at Evolve. Her next goals are to become a Certified Personal Trainer followed by a Certified Exercise Specialist. Her future plans are to establish her own business employing a fitness & wellness center… preferably where it is warm and beachy!

Jenny Redden - Body Pump Instructor

 

Jenny holds an AFAA Group Certification and Personal Training Certification along with several other certificates in popular group class formats. She is currently teaching Les Mills BodyPump and feels it is personally rewarding to watch participants enjoy what they are doing and to see them improve and reach their goals. She has been teaching group fitness for over 10 years. Staying healthy and fit allows her to have the energy to keep up with her three children.

 
 

Doug Roberts - Trainer & Front Desk

 

Doug is a native of Champaign and a recent graduate of the University of Illinois in Kinesiology. He is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer who is most interested in the clinical aspects of training. In pursuing his Kinesiology degree he spent many hours closely observing Physical Therapists, Kinesiotherapists and Chiropractors. Doug strives to provide a high level of expertise and professionalism with his clients. His program design focuses on injury rehabilitation, injury prevention, disease prevention, weight-loss, and improvements in physical fitness. His interest in personal training is a fusion of his dedication to fitness, love of cooking, interest in medicine, and a need to share these passions with others. Doug aspires to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and to open his own practice.

 

 

Matt Rossbach - Business Development, Front Desk, Group Fitness Instructor & Trainer

 

Matt is a senior majoring in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism at the University of Illinois. He is a Personal Trainer certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He motivates every client to achieve complete wellness of body, mind, and spirit and strives to tailor a training program to each client's specific needs and goals. Matt believes hard work today leads to a better life tomorrow.

 

 

Mary Wolters, LMT, CYT - Yoga Instructor

 

Mary has been practicing yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2001. She has studied with master yoga teachers from around the world and has taken teacher trainings at Moksha Yoga in Chicago since 2001. She completed her Yoga Alliance Certification through Moksha Yoga School in 2007 and continues to take a regular pilgrimage. Committed to the process of learning, she believes that we are all students of what our life has to teach us. Sharing knowledge of yoga’s 5,000 year old tradition gives her great joy. She loves to incorporate the knowledge of the past (asanas, meditation, bandhas, mantra and mudras) with what is relevant in the here and now.
